St Thomas' Vicarage, designed by Tadgell Bros and constructed in 1889, at 760 Mt Alexander Road, Moonee Ponds is significant.

Non-original alterations and additions and other buildings on the site are not significant.

How is it significant?
St Thomas' Anglican Church Vicarage at 760 Mt Alexander Road, Moonee Ponds is of local historic and architectural significance to the City of Moonee Valley.

Why is it significant?
Historically, it is significant as the residence associated with St Thomas' church and as one of the oldest houses in Moonee Ponds. (Criterion A)

It is architecturally significant as an example of an uncommon 19th century residential style, identifiable as eccliesiastical, with valuable attributes such as the eccliesiastical iron pattern and the unpainted stucco. (Criterion F & E)

      ST THOMAS' VICARAGE - Physical Description 1

      Nestling behind an overgrown hedge is a two-story, unpainted stuccoed house with a two level cast iron verandah (of an eccliesiastical pattern). Pointed arches, some with incised foliated tympanums, pointed to the religious nature of this residence, whilst its high gabled asymmetrical planning underscores it. The verandah floor is tiled, whilst the enshrouding landscape is sympathetic.The residence is part of a civic complex and supported by the nearby church and court house.

      The house is in good condition and has a relatively high degree of external integrity except for the front fence (presumed once to have been pickets) the trim colours and details such as a security door. A concrete masonary structure between the residence and the church is intrusive.
