Statement of Significance
The Mornington Baths site is of local historical, social and archaeological significance. Established in the late 1870's, it reflects the recreational utilisation of the area as a seaside resort. Tha baths are of archaeological significance for their potential to produce artefacts relating to the physical form and use of the complex over a 100 year period.

FORMER MORNINGTON BATHS - History
Also known as Irvine's Royal Public Baths the Mornington Baths were constructed in the late nineteenth century and advertised as early as as 1879. During WWII, the sea baths were used for social dances and later became a kiosk and boat hire venue. It came into disuse by 1971.

Stone features relating to baths along the base of the cliff. Stairs constructed over part of the site.
Stone features associated with the basal structure and entrance point remain on site at Mother's Beach. Stairs leading down from the cliff top to the beach have been constructed over part of the site.
