The Pascoe Vale World War I Soldiers' Memorial located in Rogers Reserve, Cumberland Road, Pascoe Vale South.

How is it significant?
The Pascoe Vale World War I Soldiers' Memorial located in Rogers Reserve, Cumberland Road, Pascoe Vale South is of local historic significance to the City of Moreland.

Why is it significant?
Of historic significance, as an early memorial erected in c.1916-1917 to honour local soldiers and demonstrates the impact that World War I had upon communities in Australia. It is one of only four memorials of this type in Victoria, the others being located in Gisborne, Mordialloc and St Kilda. Also, the transfer of the memorial from Pleasant Street to Rogers Reserve in c.1948 demonstrated the increased need of the community to commemorate its fallen after World War II.       World War I Soldiers' Memorial - Physical Description 1

      The Pascoe Vale World War I Soldiers' Memorial at the Rogers Reserve is made from bluestone. It comprises two steps, with a bluestone base, four bluestone columns and a bluestone cap. It is a drinking fountain, although the tap has been removed. Memorials to other wars, including World War II, have since been added to the fountain.

      The memorial is located within Rogers Reserve and is surrounded by a paved 'bluestone' area with a flagpole located behind.

      Memorials of this type are rare; only three others are known at Gisborne, Mordialloc and St Kilda.
