What is significant?
The Gavin Park and Westbreen Creek Precinct, Pascoe Vale comprising K.W. Joyce Reserve to the north, Gavin Park and further south a linear corridor of land that runs along the former Westbreen Creek.

The Gavin Park and Westbreen Creek Precinct, Pascoe Vale is of local historical significance.
Why is it significant?
The Gavin Park and Westbreen Creek Precinct, Pascoe Vale is of local historical significance as a reminder of the extensive, nationwide public works program associated with the Bicentennial. Westbreen Creek, once host to fern gullies and lyre-birds, became a military dumping ground in World War Two and afterwards a Council tip. After houses were built in the vicinity of the creek residents complained of mosquitoes, rats and stench. In 1979 the MMBW agreed to underground the creek via a barrel drain and the environs have since been landscaped as part of the Bicentenary program to develop a linear park. The park contains barbeques and playground equipment but it is primarily a green corridor with native trees.
