Statement of Significance
The Edwardian house, formerly Mt Sabine, located in the grounds of the Pascoe Vale Girls' High School in Lake Avenue, Pascoe Vale.
How is it significant?
The former Mt Sabine, located in the grounds of the Pascoe Vale Girls' High School, in Lake Avenue, Pascoe Vale is of local historic and aesthetic significance to the City of Moreland.
Why is it significant?
Of historic significance, for its ability to aid in the demonstration of the breaking down in the late nineteenth century of original farming settlements in the Pascoe Vale area into large residential blocks. (AHC Criterion A.4)
Of aesthetic significance, as one of the few reasonably intact large Edwardian houses built in the Pascoe Vale area. (AHC Criterion E.1)

MOUNT SABINE (FORMER) - Physical Description 1
The former Mt Sabine, located in the grounds of the Pascoe Vale Girls' High School, is a large freestanding red brick former private residence with a double gabled terracotta tiled roof. Features include: two red brick chimneys with dentil details, half-timbered projecting gable ends, round-arched upper storey windows, original timber font door with glazed side and high lights and an infilled verandah, which post-dates the house. There is a mature tree beside the house.
