Statement of Significance
What is significant?
What is Significant?
Southside Lodge (HO130), formerly ‘Kurrajong’, comprises two Kurrajong trees (Brachychiton populneus) located in the southern corner of the property at 465 Pattersons Road, Clyde North (Map 2b).
When originally identified in 1998 (Butler and Associates), the listing also included a timber hipped and gabled roof house with a veranda and Hawthorn hedges immediately north of the Kurrajong trees. These features are no longer present, and are not considered to form part of the heritage values of the place any longer. Though archaeological deposits associated with the dwelling may remain, no visible surface evidence of the dwelling remains.
