Statement of Significance
Former 'Advertiser' Building was constructed in 1874 for A T Clark MP, as both a printery for the Williamstown Advertiser and a shipping exchange. The building is in the Classical Revival Style. The symmetrical two storied brick structure has rusticated piers to both storeys. Paired round-headed windows are located about the central doorway, a motif repeated above with flat-headed windows beneath the parapet. A distinctive decorative frieze represents the originator of printing in England - William Caxton. The building is in good condition and reasonably intact.
