MCKINLEYS GUESTHOUSE - Heritage Inventory Description
Several buildings of guesthouse complex survive. Extant buildings derelict, others collapsed. Only inspected from walking track as permission for close inspection refused. Site inspected and recorded Jan 1994 - main extant building is 4 rooms (10x10m), walls of limestone blocks. A small shed with a new iron roof is 5.5m to its south. The house lies approx. 30m SE of a new residence constructed by the owner of the property. About 30m SW of the guesthouse are some bluestone blocks which are probably the remains bulldozed) of one of the structures recorded as part of the complex in 1983.
Heritage Inventory Significance: A unique site and indicative of Bridgewater's function as a watering place.
