Statement of Significance
The Organ Pipes National Park is of State significance due to its conservation value and its role as an educational and recreational resource for the community at large. The park has also proved a valuable exercise in the problems of restoring and revegetating a degraded site.
LOCATION, BOUNDARIES AND OWNERSHIP:
The Organ Pipes National Park is located 25 km. north of Melbourne, access being by way of the Calder Highway. The Classified area falls within the Organ Pipes National Park, however, land within the Park but at an elevation greater than 120 metres is excluded from the Classification. The area is Crown Land under the management of the National Parks Service.
