Statement of Significance
Location or Context:
A tree which occurs in a unique location or context and so provides a contribution to the landscape.
Outstanding Size:
A treeoutstanding for its large height, trunk circumference or canopy spread.
A very tall specimengrowing in a closed forest of exotic plantings in a gully below the main garden. "Kenloch" was established in the late 1800s by Charles Kauper. Von Mueller was a personal friend of Kauper who advised on the landscaping of the valley surrounding the house. Thomas Kennon purchased the property in 1915 and built the current 18 roomed mansion. He also enlisted the aid of Von Mueller to establish the formal garden layout around the house which is seen today.
