Curious growth form
This is a good example of this species for the age of the tree. It has an unusual branch structure which twists and contorts. Originally this land was used for agriculture but in the 1920s the area began to be settled for seaside recreation. It is believed that this tree was planted between the main house and the cottage in the 1920s by Miss Puckle, the original owner.
