Heritage Inventory Interpretation: Gold working area consisting of mine/ shaft remains and stone heaps. Some evidence of water diversion measures.

BLACKJACK GULLY DIGGINGS - Heritage Inventory Description
Extensive gold mining area, comprising several pits and reef mines, and at least one mine shaft running into the hill side. There are mullock heaps and traces of water races.
Heritage Inventory Significance: High local historical significance. Moderate archaeological significance due to the extensive nature of the site, the variety of preserved features and the fact that the site appears to be relatively undisturbed. Such a site is likely to contain a large number and wide variety of historical artefacts.
