RAVENSWOOD RAILWAY TOWNSHIP SITE - History
Heritage Inventory History of Site: Ravenswood station opened in 1862. Station buildings and a Post Office were located to the west of the line, at the present site. The station was closed in 1970. The station was a busy one, serving the nearby "Ravenswood " property. The area was a destination for picnickers in the late nineteenth century.

RAVENSWOOD RAILWAY TOWNSHIP SITE - Heritage Inventory Description
An area of ruins by the railway at Ravenswood. Brick and concrete footings are visible in several areas, and there is an asphalt path and brick drains. There are also scattered historical artefacts. The bricks are both hand made and mould made. There are two large cypress trees and a large peppercorn tree nearby.
Heritage Inventory Significance: Moderate archaeological significance. High local historical significance.
