O'HERNS 1 DRY STONE WALL - History
Heritage Inventory History of Site: Unknown. Possibly dated from 1850s to 1880s when stone wall building at peak, although stone walls are still being built by contemporary farmers. Site on land listed as belongin to JT Hughes and J Hosking from 1838 to end of century - leased and subdivided during their ownership. Much of the stone has apparently been removed.

Ruins of dry stone wall, running north-south
Heritage Inventory Significance: Cultural - low. Scientific - low. Site common to area (still being built) - particularly at this low standard of construction.
Heritage Inventory Site Features: Basalt dry stone wall, approx. 50 metres long and 1 metre high. Hawthorn & boxthorn bushes & strand of wire supporting wall. Wall is 80cm wide at base. Stone between 10cm and 40cm in diameter-irregular.i) dry stone wall - basalt boulders
