SEP 1, COACH HOUSE - Heritage Inventory Description
Cobb and Co. coachhouse, also used for smithing. The site consists of a brick house, a wooden shed situated in an area cut into the hillside and full of furniture, a cement rendered brick dome well, an associated cement base for a tank, farm ploughing machinery, and bricks used in house and shed construction. Bricks were noted in various areas around the structure, loose and in piles. Marks included Clifton, Northcote, CITY, shallow oval frog on both faces, MBC, and plain hand-made bricks with wire-cut and stacking marks evident.
Heritage Inventory Significance: Medium. Significance lies in the association with the Cobb and Co system of staging posts.
