BLAKE'S HOMESTEAD - History
The house was the original house built on the property in the late-19th C by Blake. The brick section of the house along with the chimney and back steps were built from locally hand-made bricks from a quarry on the nearby hill which also supplied civic structures in Korumburra.BLAKE'S HOMESTEAD - Interpretation of Site
This homestead site was made initially from locally available bricks from quarry 250m southeast of house. The weatherboard structure was built later, extending the brick section. Handmade brickwas also used at rear steps and for the kitchen chimney so itseems likely that the weatherboard section was not built very much later.
