Bonegilla Concrete Ruins - Physical Description 1
Near the western boundary of West Bonegilla (Latchford), and near the western third of the northern boundary, there are numerous concrete slabs from demolished buildings, probably accommodation blocks, shower blocks etc. Most are not simple flat slabs, but have raised portions outlining the layout of external and internal walls, and/or recesses for plumbing etc. They have coarse river pebble aggregate, probably locally mixed. Most have protruding rusty steel rods once used to anchor timber-framed walls sitting on top of the slabs. On the northern boundary there is an unusual partly-collapsed concrete structure that might have been an in-ground septic tank.

These slabs come from buildings erected during or soon after the Second World War, and probably demolished about 20 years ago judging by the size of trees growing through or around them. The slabs are indicated but not identified on the Hyder and current Army site plans.
