South Melbourne Remount Depot and Drill Hall - Veterans Description for Public
The South Melbourne Remount Depot and Drill hall on Sturt Street was the site of timber orderly room and depot in the colonial period. The site is now occupied by brick drill hall from interwar period 1935 - 1939. The mounting depot was constructed in Sturt Street at the same time as the Maribyrnong facility. Only a timber married quarters and some stabling remain.
