Statement of Significance
SoS from 2000 Heritage Study and 2003 Heritage Review:
Recommended level of significance: local
The Tullamarine war memorial is of local historical significance as one of the few surviving features which relate to the original rural village of Tullamarine and one of the few early twentieth century structures in the area. It also demonstrates (as do all such local memorials) the very high level of volunteerism from such small communities and commemorates both the individuals who served in the war and through them also records the names of most of the families which once resided in the district.
