ALLWINKLE HOUSE SITE CARDINIA LAKES FEATURE 1 - History
Area is part of the earliest settled pastoral runs in Pakenham. Site is location of former Miss Ruby Allwinkle's weatherboard house (c1900). Site is also a registered AAV site (#7921-0653) due to one flaked stone artefact found in Transect 3.ALLWINKLE HOUSE SITE CARDINIA LAKES FEATURE 1 - Interpretation of Site
Structural remains probably related to Miss Allwinkle's weatherboard house. The lack of regularity in alignment of postholes may represent either a makeshift addition to the home (shed or verandah etc) or the overlapping of the remains of two former structures. Further testing required.
