Statement of Significance

STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE
The residence at 2442 Geelong Portarlington Road appears to be a simple early style structure of brick and weatherboard which retains some original features. It has been the home of several farming families and is believed to have been a farming property for one family for nearly fifty years.
The residence has aesthetic, historic and social value to the local East Bellarine community.
The residence has good integrity for a building developed in at least two stages. The front brick section is a rare example in the Geelong region of a modest Regency styled cottage evidenced by the recessed planes of brickwork in the front and side walls. It has a long association with several farming families particularly the Parrot family.
It is of LOCAL cultural significance.
