Statement of Significance
Archaeological:
Possible very high potential for evidence of 1890-80's German subsistence farming comparable with Lehraoung farm to the north and Westgarthtown German towns. Deposits may be sealed by fill-or else damages by bulldosers. Recommend watching brief to determine this.
Cultural:
Rare early German subsistence farm related to important local groups- Zeibel, Lehmann.
Scientific:
Floor plan of house and farm buildings and domestic and agricultural may reveal evidence of ethnic adaptaion and/or cultural transference.
Aesthetic:
Dense exotic deciduous trees provide distinctive landscape unusual in this area.

SEEBER'S FARM - History
Originally granted to Gottloh Seidiel (1853) as part of the larger Lot 4 but split in 1860 with Lehmon taking northern part and Christian Seefen (?) having the southern part until 1902; his probabte referredto 'real estate' valued at 400 pounds includes 48 acres with five roomed store buildings occupied by William Nebel (see Survey Report by Debney Et. Al,).SEEBER'S FARM - Interpretation of Site
The site was established in the mid 19th century as one of a number of related early German farmsteads. It appears to have been abandoned as an occupation site c. 1950 or earlier as farms ammalgamated. Land subdivided in 1970's for large residential lots.

SEEBER'S FARM - Heritage Inventory Description
Remnants of 19th century small farm including garden and shelter trees, drystone wall along creek, stock trough, windmill building rubble, and scattered artefacts. Site straddles Edgar's Creek but parts are buried by land fill from both sides.
Possibly footing of 1860's farm and outbuilding,drystone fence, brick trough probably early 20th century, windmill tower early 20th century, original garden and shelter trees.
