Statement of Significance

The former Treeby has high local significance as a substantially intact example of a simple weatherboard farm cottage built c1890 for Treeby Moysey and his wife, Sarah, daughter of the successful district farmer Francis Barr. It is enhanced by a mature garden.

      House and Garden (former Treeby) - Physical Description 1

      Timber outbuildings remain and the two room cottage with hipped roof has a rendered, corbelled chimney, convex verandah and rear skillion. The footings are sinking and the walls are in a deteriorated condition. Established exotic trees, including an oak, are a feature of the garden. The dwelling is located on approximately 3.54 hectares of land.
