House - Physical Description 1
The house at 3-5 Princes Domain Drive, Hallam is an altered Victorian/Edwardian weatherboard villa with a hip and gable corrugated iron roof. The house faces south toward the original property frontage to what is now the Princes Highway. As originally constructed, it was asymmetrical in layout with projecting gables to the south and east with a return verandah along the south and east sides between the gables. There are original double hung sash windows in the east side elevation.
The house has been altered and extended as follows:
- The verandah has been filled in, however, an internal inspection shows that the original posts still appear to be in-situ. The original doorway with sidelights and highlights remains, as does a door leading to the east side gable, however the front (south facing) window has been removed and replaced by an open doorway.
- A large and badly sited addition has been made to the south-east corner, which contains a bathroom.
- A further addition has been made to the south-west corner creating a flat roofed section that extends forward of the original projecting gableHouse - Physical Conditions
