Statement of Significance

Warrenheip Distillery is of national significance. Of considerable historic, scientific and architectural interest as the first distillery for the production of pot still whisky in Australia and a major and early producer of brandy, whisky and gin. The extant buildings are substantial and imposing, amply demonstrating the various components of the distilling process such as grain handling and storage, malting, distilling and bonded warehousing.
