This place is included on the Victorian Heritage Inventory, for its potential to contain historical archaeological remains associated with the settlement and growth of early Melbourne.       GAS & FUEL CORPORATION - Heritage Inventory Description

      Land originally part of Church of England holding. 1850 - building on site(?). 1877 - three houses and coal yard, associated with church. 1888 - Parsonage and house, coal yard. 1892 - construction of current building. 1905 - four- and five-storey building, Metropolitan Gas Co.
