THE SITE CONTRIBUTES VALUABLE INFORMATION TO THE LOCAL HISTORY OF EPPING AND ILLUSTRATES THE PATTERN OF SMALL-SCALE DAIRYING FROM THE MID-LATE 19TH CENTURY.

PIKES HOMESTEAD - Heritage Inventory Description
A bluestone depression with small boulders surrounding and within it. A scatter of hand-made bricks and a L-shaped cobble area; lines of buried squared bluestone. Artefacts such as iron, bricks, metal sheet and timber.
COBBLED AREA LAID WITH LARGE FLAT SECTIONS OF BASALT 7 METRES X 1.5 METRES IN BOTH SECTIONS. REMAINS OF BLUESTONE FOOTINGS.
