BUSE'S BOATSHED - History
A boatshed was erected in 1882, with a slipway possibly constructed at the same time. Another shed was constructed between 1904 and 1926 at the site parallel to Stevedore Street pier.BUSE'S BOATSHED - Interpretation of Site
It is possible that remnants of the original boathouse exist under the reclaimed land at the site of the current club houses. Some of the extant slipways may incorporate elements of the previous structure.
The site is important as a local recreational facility. It has almost been occupied continually by boating facilities since 1882.
