Statement of Significance
The Tooradin Foreshore Reserve, comprising the entrance gateways, jetty and shelter, seawall and associated mature trees, established between c.1930 and c.1960 at Tooradin.
The Tooradin foreshore Reserve is of local historic, social and aesthetic significance to the City of Casey.
Historically, it demonstrates the improvements carried out by the Tooradin community to encourage tourism to the area. (AHC criteria A4, D2)
Socially, it is significant for its strong associations with the local community as a place of recreation over a long period. (AHC criteria G1)
Aesthetically, it is significant as a picturesque environment, which contributes to the amenity, character and identity of Tooradin. (AHC criterion E1)

Tooradin Foreshore Reserve Precinct - Physical Description 1
The Tooradin Foreshore Reserve precinct is situated on the east side of Evans Inlet, to the south of the South Gippsland Highway in Tooradin. It comprises:
- Early fishermans cottages on the east side of the foreshore road facing the reserve. These are simple weatherboard gabled buildings with verandahs. (For further detail about these buildings, please refer to the separate citations in this Study)
- The stone entrance gateways,
- A timber jetty and shelter
- A stone picnic shelter
- The seawall, and remains of an early jetty at its southern end
- Associated mature trees including Norfolk Island Pines, Monterey Cypresses and Pines. Some of these trees (particularly the Norfolk Island Pines) have been badly pruned to accommodate power lines.Tooradin Foreshore Reserve Precinct - Physical Conditions
