How is it significant?
The hotel is historically significant to the Shire of Nillumbik.
Why is it significant?
The hotel is historically significant because it served as an early hotel, store and a staging post for Cobb and Co coaches bound for the Caledonian goldfields (near St Andrews) and the Woods Point gold mine, some 80 kilometres to the east of Warburton (Criterion A).
