Memorial Window Description & History
Stained Glass Window at Crib Point HMAS Cerberus Flinders Naval Depot Anglican Chapel - Memorial Window Description & History
The central light of this three-light window was the first of the three to be installed. It is '[d] edicated to the Glory of God and in memory of the Tribal Class destroyers HMAS Arunta 30 Mar 1942 to 21 Dec 1957 [Conquer or Die] HMAS Warramunga 23 Nov 1942 to 7 Dec 1959 [Courage in Difficulties] and HMAS Bataan 26 June 1945 to 7 Nov 1954 [Unguibus et Rostro]', all represented by their insignia in the upper section of the window. The artist included the image of a typical Tribal class destroyer above the flag of Australia crossed with that of the Australian Navy ensign. A full list of the theatres of war in which the ships served in World War II 1939-45; Korean 1950-52; and Malaya 1955-58 indicate extensive service with the RAN.
